Okay - its been a while since I've jotted down some words - since last post - I have been incredibly busy starting grad school, renovating the house and oh yah! GETTING MARRIED - to my best friend Piper. My life has led me in some unexpected places, however, I never would have thought I would stand at the end of the aisle and watch my best friend walking towards me to say "I do". Believe it or not, for Piper and I - it was an incredibly emotional ceremony - we made up for it when the reception rolled around :) I dont think I was ready for how emotionally involved everything was - from my groomsmen straightening my bow tie ( yes - I rocked a bow tie) to patiently waiting to see Piper in her dress for the first time - she was beautiful! It was ridiculous. We apparently can throw a party - it only helped that we have amazing friends and family that love both Piper and I - that was key to the nights events.
Just when the DJ was slowing it down and people were shuffling out of the reception - the UK Wildcat Mascot showed up to liven' up the party! The Cat (we'll leave his/her name anonymous) is a friend of a friend - he expressed that this is "not a regular type of appearance for the cat".
I unexpectedly caught news that some good Marine buddies (who are still on active duty in North Carolina) were making their way to Kentucky to be there for the wedding. I was shocked to look out in the crowd at the church and see Jeff and Rob sporting their Marine Dress Blues: you guys rock! Later that night - as Piper and I were leaving the reception - they stood at parade rest, poised - holding the doors to the '56 Bentley we rode off in.
